Why Do You Leave Comments On Blogs? Don’t Just Leave Comments for the Sake of it!

author Posted by: garryaw on date May 20th, 2008 | filed Filed under: blogging

The correct answer as to why you should leave comments on a blog, is obviously because you have an intelligent answer that you would live to give relating to the article you have just read. It is also helps the blog site owner where the article appears, to judge the success and public opinion towards what they have published. For me these should be the primary reasons as to why you leave comments on someone else’s blog. Well for me they are!

As a relatively new blogger its, coming up for my second full month of my journey towards becoming a successful and profitable blogger. It has become obvious to me, that you get plenty of people out there that leave comments on blogs for the sole purpose of kissing the ass of the superstar blogger. They leave second-rate comments or they can only agree with every word written by the well-known bloggers.

I suppose people that don’t have a mind of their own and are spending every waking minute wishing they could be just like their hero, will never become successful. I think the reason why people like Yaro Starak , Darren Rowse, Shoemoney have become so successful is because they are original, they never had anybody to copy to mould themselves upon, to look too for ideas.

The only way we can become successful is to carve our own path, and for me that means I have drastically reduced the amount of time I spend reading the big blogs. I don’t want to subconsciously or purposely, for that matter copy them. There is so many good new up and coming blogs out there in blog land which I feel will one day surpass the great well known bloggers of today.

The number 1 reason I feel why comments are left on blogs is link building and building traffic. Nothing wrong with that, but when it is obvious that the person hasn’t even read the dam article and is leaving their mindless comments for the sole purpose or I should say vain hope that someone visits their own site. Why the heck am I going to visit your site when you leave a comment such as, “well written article, great stuff, keep up the good work”. I feel that any blog owner should be proactive and delete such comments that are clearly a waste of time.

Why do you leave comments on blogs, be honest, do you even bother to read the article? Or are you one of those, who is petrified to leave constructive criticism on a well know bloggers blog.

Here is another well written article discussing, adding keywords to the name field, again feel this is something that no serious blogger should be part of  Should you add keywords to the name field when you leave comments on a blog?

5 Not So Secret Google Adsense Tips to Boost Your Earnings!

author Posted by: garryaw on date Apr 25th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Marketing
These are proven techniques for making Google Adsense, which will work on most blogs and websites. There is no secret system, you just have to think smart and put the time and effort into making things happen. Don’t start out on the Google Adsense path and think you are instantly going to be making 1000’s of dollars a week. It isn’t going to happen.
  1. The most important step to making money from Google Adsense is to increase the volume of traffic to your blog or website. Simple ways of doing this is by distributing your articles to ezine lists, article announcement lists, blog carnivals, social bookmarks sites and yahoo groups. For this to work you need to write at least one new article a day, which needs to be of a good quality and interesting.

  2. Create the ad units so that they blend in with your blog. You will need to go into your Google Adsense control panel and enter the hex colour codes from your website or blog. Make sure the text colour; background colour, and link colours all match your blog.

  3. Don’t use borders around the ad unit boxes. Again, you want the boxes to blend, you will have to colour code the borders to match the background so that they become invisible.

  4. Find profitable niche markets, it is important not to choose markets where the cost per click is too low to make it worth your while. I suggest that you do some keyword research and find out roughly what the cost per click is in Ad Words. Usually this will be a good indication as to whether this will be successful.

  5. Keywords are of great importance, you have to make sure that your content is not overstuffed with particular keywords to the point of destroying readability and value. What you need to do is master the art of making sure your articles make liberal use of on-topic keywords, which are likely to generate the most relevant ads. Experts maintain that using keywords with your titles and H1 tags is any excellent way to assist in getting the most relevant possible adds

If you want to make money from Google Adsense, you can and will, but it takes real effort, planning, time and smart thinking. Don’t expect to be making huge amounts of money after 4 or 5 months and a few thousands visitors a month to your site. The world is full of people that expected the world too soon and for too little effort, then gave up without giving Google Adsense a proper chance.

Google Adsense The Secrets, The Secret Is! There Is No Secrets!

author Posted by: garryaw on date Apr 25th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Marketing
I’m relatively new to blogging and my ultimate aim is to turn my blog into a lucrative income stream. Like many new bloggers before me, I have started off by using Google Adsense as my first revenue-earning source.

What makes Google so appealing for so many newbie’s like me, is that it doesn’t really matter how much traffic you site is getting and it is also very simple to incorporate it, into your site. The first thing I would advise anybody new to Google Adsense to do, is read all the excellent information which Google provides, I cant believe the amount of people that have told me that they couldn’t be bothered to read it, yet they go and pay some false prophet, good money for some secret system, which they have invented, to show you how to make huge amounts of money from Google Adsense. My advice is read everything that Google offers, you will learn so much useful information that will help you to maximise profits.

The bottom line is, you will never make very much money from Adsense until your blog or website starts to generate serious amounts of traffic. Your main goal has to be, to create large numbers of new and regular visitors to your site. I would recommend implementing Google Adsense into your blog or website as soon as it goes live. This will give you the chance to get comfortable with it, learn how it works, what changes you can make to the colours of the add, what size works best, where they should be placed, etc.

The real truth is that there is no secret to Google Adsense, there is a magnitude of free information available out there which can and will help you to fine tune it. Don’t waste your money paying for some secret information which some false prophet is plugging, it may have worked on there site or sites but that doesn’t mean it will work on yours.

The real secret of Google Adsense, is that you first of all have to get high numbers of visitors to your blog or website, then through learning about how Adsense works and monitoring it regularly on your site, and by trial and error you will figure out what works best for you.

Like many new bloggers my ultimate aim is to make a reasonable amount of money from my blog, I don’t expect to or plan on making a full time living from blogging. A Beginners Guide to Becoming a Blogger

author Posted by: garryaw on date Apr 15th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Online Business Opportunities

So you want to become a blogger, it seems that nowadays everyone has a blog or are thinking about starting one up. Whether you want to start a blog to make some extra money or are looking to promote your business or purely for fun, my simple beginners guide will help to get you started.

What is a blog, It is basically a type of website which has its content arranged in chronological order from the most recent post {or entry} at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom. Blogs are updated frequently and are fairly straightforward to publish. The real beauty of blogs is that they require very little technical skills to update and maintain them, unlike traditional web sites.

Blog Content, you will have to decide what you are going to write about, the subject matter of your blog is of vital importance to you. Whatever topic or topics you choose to write about you will have to be prepared and knowledgeable enough to do so on a very regular basis.

Publishing your Blog, next you will need to decide the publishing method you are going to use to make your blog available to the world. The choices are either doing it the free way, through company a like, blogger.com, which is entirely free and straightforward. Or buying your own domain name, paying to host it and publishing it through something like Wordpress.

Marketing of Your Blog, when you finally see your words published on the web, it is highly likely that you will want to share them with as many people as possible. If not why go to all the bother.  The next best thing to do, is make all your friends, family, and work colleagues aware of your blog; this will get the ball rolling. The next step is to submit every article you write to social sites such as Del.icio, Digg, Stumble Upon, Tehcnorati etc.

These are just some simple steps to help you get started as a blogger.
