2 Million Dollar Bills

One Man and His Mission To Make 2 Million Dollars

My Third Month as a Future Blogging Icon, 2 Million Dollar Bills, Living the Dream!

author Posted by: garryaw on date Jul 1st, 2008 | filed Filed under: 10 Best Articles of the Week, My Blogs Monthly Appraisal

My third full month as a blogger has been achieved and things are moving along nicely, it is still a big learning curve for me and I’m learning something new everyday about improving my chances of becoming a more successful blogger.

During the month of June I had the buzz of experiencing my first big article, which was, My Life is a Mess, I Have Lost My Job, the Wife Has Left Me, I Have No Future, Bullshit!  well it was big for me! It brought over 2000 unique visitors to my blog on one day, up until that point my previous biggest article had brought about 200 unique visitors to 2 Million Dollar Bills,  The Power of Reddit, It Gave My Blog a Massive Boost!

As a new blogger I realize the importance of writing an article on a daily basis and trying to make sure that it it brings something new or is written in a manner that differentiates 2 Million Dollar Bills from all the other blogs out there. That I feel shouldn’t be too difficult because it seem to me, that too many bloggers are hanging on to  the every word of some of the mega bloggers out there, and as a result their own blogs are turning into mini but unsuccessful clones of them.

For me 2 Million Dollar Bills is still developing and it is far from the finished article, my goal is to maintain my blogs originality and to continue to improve my writing ability, along with continuing to create interesting content. I don’t see why I cant become as successful as some of the huge blogs out there. Many of those blogs are really struggling to continue to create original content of their own.

The one big thing that the huge blogs  have in their favor is the snowball effect, they are so successful that it  doesn’t matter how crap an article they write, they are still going to get a huge amount of traffic, and favorable comments, because of who they are.

2milliondollarbills.com Results for June

Unique Visitors: 3619
Number of Visits: 5545
Pages Viewed: 32562
Subscribers: 25 (average for the month)

Alexa Rank = 1,312,953
Technorati Rank = 260,227
Google Adsense = $34.26

As I have stated before my long term aim for my blog is to continue to improve the number of visitors to my site, along with subscribers. In the short term I hope to improve the amount of comments and subscribers that my blog is receiving. I made a strategic mistake last month when I removed the option for readers to subscribe to my blog via email, that situation has just been rectified.

The amount of income I make from my blog isn’t really an issue for me at the moment, in fact I could well remove Google Adsense at some point in the near future.

During the month of July I plan on submitting articles to more article directories, at the present time I only submit to Ezine, hopefully this will bring more readers to my blog, I also plan on leaving 10 comments a day on other blogs to see if that brings any noticeable traffic increases to my blog, at the present time, I probably leave about 5 comments a month at the present time.

I have now moved to the beautiful Caribbean Island of Barbados and am moving forward with my overall plan for achieving my goal of making 2 million dollar bills, blogging is only a very small part of my business plans. I like to do more than just sit in front of a computer for endless hours everyday, I need much more out of life,  The 2 Million Dollar Bills Dream Is One Step Closer, The Barbados Plan Is Happening!

It would be interesting to receive some comments from other bloggers out there, concerning their own results.

Why Have You Become a Blogger?

author Posted by: garryaw on date May 20th, 2008 | filed Filed under: blogging

There are many different reasons as to why people become bloggers, everyone has their own path, which they are attempting to follow. Including the following.

1. To become famous.
2. To make little bit of extra money or in some cases to become wealthy.
3. To promote a business.
4. To sell services or in some cases themselves!
5. To stay in touch with friends and family.
6. To increase job prospects.
7. To express a personal opinion.
8. Purely for fun

My own personal reasons for starting a blog are to eventually make a reasonable good income from it and to periodically promote my business interests when I have the opportunity. What I’m trying to do isn’t rocket science or particularly difficult. All I have to do is write interesting articles, keep on improving as a writer, stay motivated and put the time and effort into the task at hand.

My first two months as a blogger have been a fantastic challenge, which I have found to be truly inspiring. I view my blog as a long-term goal, which will take a huge amount of time and effort for it to reach the level of success that I plan on achieving.

Everyone single person that starts a blog has the chance to make his or her mark on the world. How successful you are is entirely dependant upon yourself!

Whatever the reason you have decided to become a blogger, a very interesting point regarding the manner of how you conduct yourself, has been raised at pure blogging Become A Blogger To Look Up To

My First Month As A Future Blogging Icon, 2 Million Dollar Bills

author Posted by: garryaw on date May 1st, 2008 | filed Filed under: My Blogs Monthly Appraisal

After many months of thinking about starting up a blog I finally took the plunge and on the 15th of March 2008 I purchased a domain name, bought myself some hosting and signed up with Wordpress. Was it really as simple as that, well there were a few teething problems, which you would expect when you’re participating in something completely new. But there wasn’t anything that I couldn’t overcome, the beauty of life in the 21st century, is if you ever need answers, Google is always there to lend a helping hand.

My goal with my blog was to post at least one article a day, which can take anything between 45 to 90 minutes depending on how focussed I am, on that particular day. I know I aint going to win any awards for the quality of my writing, grammar or spelling! But I feel my blog is reasonable entertaining and informative, which is what it is meant to be. I’m not pretending to be the next Ernest Hemmingway like some other bloggers out there. I’m doing the best I can and gradually improving as a blogger.

My goal like any other blogger out there is to get as many people reading my blog as possible, what’s the point if know one reads it? It goes without saying, I hope to make some money out of my blog, and I’m not really looking for fame, unless the fame involves lots of pretty girls drooling over me. I can look but cant touch, buts its still a prospect that appeals to me!

My results so far as a new blogger are as follows, I have summarised my first full month of Blogging which was April. I will not be including March because quite simply, that month was basically about setting the blog up and finding out how everything worked. My readership figures are not based upon 100’s of family and friends. I haven’t told a living soul that I personally know about my blog apart from my wife, why did I do this? I wanted to know how many people are really reading my blog because they want too, not because they feel obligated too!

The Results For April 2008

Unique Visitors:      993
Number of Visits:   3213
Pages viewed:       21797
Subscribers:          5

Earnings:

Google Adsense:  $35.69
Playing Poker:      $98.35 (I have added this because poker is a big  part of my blog)
Donations:           $15.00

Total:                   $149.04

I’m reasonable happy with these figures and will try to write better and more cutting edge articles. I plan on working hard to increase my readership and will be adding some more moneymaking opportunities to my blog during May. I appreciate everyone that has read my articles and has added to the revenue of my blog.

I started out this blog well aware that it takes a fair amount of time and effort for things to move forward; I’m in it for the long term. There is so much to learn to make a blog a success, but if we never had new things to learn and challenges to meet, I suppose life would become kinda dull.

5 Not So Secret Google Adsense Tips to Boost Your Earnings!

author Posted by: garryaw on date Apr 25th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Marketing
These are proven techniques for making Google Adsense, which will work on most blogs and websites. There is no secret system, you just have to think smart and put the time and effort into making things happen. Don’t start out on the Google Adsense path and think you are instantly going to be making 1000’s of dollars a week. It isn’t going to happen.
  1. The most important step to making money from Google Adsense is to increase the volume of traffic to your blog or website. Simple ways of doing this is by distributing your articles to ezine lists, article announcement lists, blog carnivals, social bookmarks sites and yahoo groups. For this to work you need to write at least one new article a day, which needs to be of a good quality and interesting.

  2. Create the ad units so that they blend in with your blog. You will need to go into your Google Adsense control panel and enter the hex colour codes from your website or blog. Make sure the text colour; background colour, and link colours all match your blog.

  3. Don’t use borders around the ad unit boxes. Again, you want the boxes to blend, you will have to colour code the borders to match the background so that they become invisible.

  4. Find profitable niche markets, it is important not to choose markets where the cost per click is too low to make it worth your while. I suggest that you do some keyword research and find out roughly what the cost per click is in Ad Words. Usually this will be a good indication as to whether this will be successful.

  5. Keywords are of great importance, you have to make sure that your content is not overstuffed with particular keywords to the point of destroying readability and value. What you need to do is master the art of making sure your articles make liberal use of on-topic keywords, which are likely to generate the most relevant ads. Experts maintain that using keywords with your titles and H1 tags is any excellent way to assist in getting the most relevant possible adds

If you want to make money from Google Adsense, you can and will, but it takes real effort, planning, time and smart thinking. Don’t expect to be making huge amounts of money after 4 or 5 months and a few thousands visitors a month to your site. The world is full of people that expected the world too soon and for too little effort, then gave up without giving Google Adsense a proper chance.

Google Adsense The Secrets, The Secret Is! There Is No Secrets!

author Posted by: garryaw on date Apr 25th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Marketing
I’m relatively new to blogging and my ultimate aim is to turn my blog into a lucrative income stream. Like many new bloggers before me, I have started off by using Google Adsense as my first revenue-earning source.

What makes Google so appealing for so many newbie’s like me, is that it doesn’t really matter how much traffic you site is getting and it is also very simple to incorporate it, into your site. The first thing I would advise anybody new to Google Adsense to do, is read all the excellent information which Google provides, I cant believe the amount of people that have told me that they couldn’t be bothered to read it, yet they go and pay some false prophet, good money for some secret system, which they have invented, to show you how to make huge amounts of money from Google Adsense. My advice is read everything that Google offers, you will learn so much useful information that will help you to maximise profits.

The bottom line is, you will never make very much money from Adsense until your blog or website starts to generate serious amounts of traffic. Your main goal has to be, to create large numbers of new and regular visitors to your site. I would recommend implementing Google Adsense into your blog or website as soon as it goes live. This will give you the chance to get comfortable with it, learn how it works, what changes you can make to the colours of the add, what size works best, where they should be placed, etc.

The real truth is that there is no secret to Google Adsense, there is a magnitude of free information available out there which can and will help you to fine tune it. Don’t waste your money paying for some secret information which some false prophet is plugging, it may have worked on there site or sites but that doesn’t mean it will work on yours.

The real secret of Google Adsense, is that you first of all have to get high numbers of visitors to your blog or website, then through learning about how Adsense works and monitoring it regularly on your site, and by trial and error you will figure out what works best for you.

Darren Rowse, How Can He Fail !

author Posted by: garryaw on date Apr 23rd, 2008 | filed Filed under: Passing the Time of the Day

I don’t think their can be many people  who are blogging and haven’t heard of Darren Rowse of Problogger; he has one of the most well-known and popular blogs in the world. Out of the millions of blogs out there, it is one of the better ones and I occasionally pay it a visit myself.

Whilst doing a Google search I came across a catchy title, How To Become a Famous Blogger, I thought that sounds interesting and its on Problogger, so I thought why not have a look at what one of the most famous bloggers is saying. I thought he must be offering some unique and well written information, which  will be of great help to all those wannabe’s out there, who are blogging in the vain hope of becoming famous

Wow, I clicked on the link and I was speechless, it was unbelievable; it was totally amazing, it was total CRAP!  It’s a badly drawn cartoon and a few words of wisdom! This is the secret of how do it! Darren means by saying this, that he can basically put anything of little or know value on his blog and get thousands of hits, and almost 50 adoring comments from I want to become a top blogger by riding on his shirt tail.

It makes a mockery of all the up and coming bloggers out there, who are writing fairly decent articles and are struggling to get people to leave comments or click on there revenue adds.

I’m off to get a pencil and piece of paper; lets see what crappy little cartoon I can draw up over the next few minutes! Dam, I’m stuck I cant come up with a catch little title, ah well, never mind, I will leave it to Problogger to continue with the groundbreaking artwork!

I will give you something Daren Rowse failed to do and that is some real advice, on how to become a famous blogger. Do a streak across centre court at Wimbledon with your blog name on your back; there is some awesome advice for you.
