2 Million Dollar Bills

Continuing with my efforts to see how much money I can make from nothing. I just recently I received an email from Party Poker giving me some free money, to be precise $20. Bearing in mind that the only reason they gave me this free money was to tempt me back to playing on there site again, was because I had lost everything I had started with, a  month or so ago. I suppose this was there way of thanking me.

I have read all the stories about those online poker millionaires, how do they do it? Have these guys  developed a poker system that works for them, or is it something more sinister,  have they developed some sort of advanced computer software that allows them to see other people’s cards, or are some of these online casinos just scamming everyone and they are wining the money for themselves. I wouldn’t be surprised if all of my theories were correct.

I now have this free money to play with, I recently read the story about the poker playing legend Chris Ferguson starting with nothing and turning it into $10,000 playing online poker.  I suppose I have a head start on him with my free $20. 

I had recently read a couple of how to win at online poker books; I watched a Interview with Chris Ferguson and received some insights which would hopefully help me improve my poker playing skills.

Armed with my new poker playing knowledge and skills I’m ready to turn my free money into something substantial. I tried my best to locate some software to help me see the other player’s cards and give myself an unbeatable advantage, but no such luck. Looks like I will have to do things the hard way.

I was ready to start my poker career for real, my game of choice is Texas hold ‘em, a game which isn’t complicated to learn to play, but requires a lot of skill to become successful at, it’s a game that can hook its teeth into and never let go.

My first week of play I made a profit of $35.00 not a great deal but a step in the right direction. I played about 4 hours of poker to achieve this. I feel that my biggest mistake was choosing to play my poker last thing at night, when I’m obviously tired and not my sharpest.  What seems to be working for me, is playing with patience, this seems to bring me better results, playing much fewer hands and waiting for the right opportunities. I feel if I could have maintained by patience and hadn’t played poker tired with my eyes half closed I could have easily doubled my winnings.

My plan now is to stick to my new found playing style and start playing earlier in the day and see what kind of results this brings me.
