How you can make money out of nothing. I have asked myself this question many times and thought I would take up the challenge. The aim of this exercise is to prove that you can build up your bank balance from nothing to create funding to invest in other projects.
As the saying goes, Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.
As I was putting out the rubbish into the communal bin 2 weeks ago, lying on the ground was as an Acer LCD flat screen 19inch monitor. Made sure there wasn’t any body going about, gave it a quick check, no visible sign of damage, picked it up and took it home.
Whether the monitor was actually in working condition or not I couldn’t determine because whoever dumped it, forgot to leave me the cables for it.
Next step was to take the monitor to the weekly household goods auction, at the Thainstone Centre in Inverurie. Twelve day later a cheque drops through the letterbox for £33.30 for the sale of the monitor, minus my petrol money, I’m left with a total profit of £31.00. Not bad for the 20 minutes effort, that was my travelling time to the auction house and home again.
Searching through the freebies section on the local Gumtree I came across an add for someone giving a away a box of stuff, the add simply said, ” a box of magazines, i.e. nuts etc, some cd,s, free to a good home or they will end up in the bin”. I thought what have I got to lose, I emailed the advertiser and then arranged to go and collect the box.
The box contained a variety of magazines, Nuts, Zoo, Sorted, etc {some of them first issues} a few music magazines, a couple of music cd,s, and records. The next step is to make some money out of this free stuff. I suppose eBay is the logical place to go.
It seems that if you are prepared to come out of the box and put a little bit of effort into seeking out opportunities in which to create money from nothing, then it can be done.
