How Rife is Corruption and Fraud Within Aberdeen City Council

I received an email yesterday from someone that I personally know, I will refer to his as the Snitch, they had recently read my article I’m Watching the Council Workers, Only £27 Million in Debt! and told me they had a wee story, which they thought I would appreciate. For obvious reasons I can’t use their name, or give away any details about them. Aberdeen City Council is currently in dire straits financially, they are £27 million pounds in debt, and as they maintain it isn’t there fault! They are closing schools, leisure centres, the roads are a disgraceful state full of pot holes, which would scare you, if you stepped into some of them you would need climbing gear to get out.

I have maintained for years that corruption is rife within many councils in the UK and costs us as tax payers dearly, we are constantly having to put up with rising council tax’s to pay for this corruption. If councils were ran professionally and by people with intelligence, I’m certain our cities would be much improved places to live and council money would be spent more wisely.

The Snitch told me an interesting wee story, about one of his work colleagues, who works out of the Aberdeen City Council base at Kittybrewster, he is a builder. He has being committing fraud for over 20 years, against his employers the council and the public who having being paying for his wages and for his sins of greed through our council taxes.

The crooked and greedy council workers little trick, is when he goes to fill his van up with diesel, he takes a container with him and fills that up with diesel for his own personal use. He hasn’t had to buy diesel for his car for over 20 years. He has committed quite a serious fraud, and if you add it up over all those years, it is fairly substantial amount he has stolen. I just wonder how many other council workers are doing a similar thing?

It doesn’t end there; the crooked and greedy council worker proudly told the snitch of another little tick he sometimes uses. He was recently doing a job laying paving slabs, it came to the end of his working day, and he loaded the van up with about 40 slabs. Which he took home for a wee personal job, that he had lined up at the weekend! The next day he phoned up his boss, and oh! Shock, horror, the paving slabs had been stolen during the night and he would need some more to complete the job.

I personally feel that the long suffering citizens of Aberdeen deserve better than crooked council workers like this and a council management team that are too busy trying to scam their next free lunch or back hander. A major government and police enquiry needs to be launched as soon as possible against Aberdeen City Council.

My question is how much money is lost every year, by every council in the UK through lazy workers, corruption, stealing and inefficiency. All I can say is I’m glad I’m getting the hell out the UK. I know I should email this article to the council but, I know the response, this article isn’t true, its made up. I will leave you the public to make up your own minds.

I think the one of those undercover; exposé television documentaries shows would have a field day if they were to feature Aberdeen City Council. Come on the BBC stop making so much reality TV crap and go and make some real television for a change.
